How come do they never inform us that you are poor devils just like us, that your mothers are just because anxious as ours, which we have the same fear of loss of life, and the same dying and the same agony-Forgive me, comrade; how could you always be my opponent?  These kinds of events and factors, along with many others, are the tips in creating Paul to alter during the war.

As it gets deeper in the war, Paul changes from your boy before when the war started. His experiences within the last few years make him find things in a different way, depressed, and all alone on the globe. After all this individual has been through, Paul is definitely not misplaced with the civilized world. “At that time I still recognized nothing regarding the war, we had simply been in silent sectors. But now I see that I have been crushed without knowing this. I discover I do not really belong below anymore, this can be a foreign universe.  This is the way Paul seems after returning home to his family members for a short period of time. After dealing with traumatizing conditions and experiencing the war, Paul is now fully developed and cultivated.
