A distinctively aesthetic text aims to influence the way in which we discover and understand the images we come across. Significantly changing the way we all make understandings of the experience that we encounter in the world. Techniques used to represent Distinctively visible are applied in the film ‘Run Lola Run’ directed by Tom Tykwer plus the picture publication ‘Red Tree’ written by Shaun Tan by using motifs, colours, lighting and reading paths. The use of these techniques assistance to highlight quite themes in both text messaging such as like, hope and time.

The film Work Lola Run presents aesthetic images and reflects the potency of post modernism. Tykwer provides included in the film a range of themes and ideas, which will symbolise the cultural history such as chance versus freewill. The colour red appears correct throughout the film, as a theme representative of several sentiments and thoughts dominant to the film’s essential message. Red suggests a sense of freedom and desire typically by Lola’s radiant hair.

The color of Lola’s hair makes her exclusive as the character in the film, as well as symbolising her frame of mind of disobedience towards expert and her individuality. One other motif is usually circles and spirals inside the film, they have been incorporated throughout the film, in the various extreme close ups of lighting to the trademarks upon complexes. Examples of these are generally the Bolle sign on the wall behind the phone presentation area where Manni waits for Lola as well as the spinning spin out of control at the Spirale Bar. These types of circles most represents the film’s major message that life is circular and negative; beginnings would be the end of which came prior and being are the new beginnings.

The of the spiral is used in the film to represent misperception and worry. In ‘Run Lola Run’ time is been shown to be a major concern right from first. We can see this in the first few seconds with the film the moment there is a low angle taken looking up by a pendulum swaying then a camera pots and pans out to reveal a gargoyles head for a clock.

The gargoyle clears its oral cavity and begins to consume anything including us. This demonstrates early in the film the use of the camerawork helps you to portray that point is frustrating and uncontainable which is linked directly to the predicament that Lola is in where the girl only features twenty minutes to save her boyfriend Manni and no matter what she will she can’t alter the period she has. This kind of major event is the entire significance pertaining to the film ‘Run Lola Run’.

The use of split display image can be continuously reappearing in the film. This is shown in the several scenes among Manni, Lola and the city clock, as Lola competes against the perfect time to reach Manni and save him. This is certainly used to attract and engage the audience and cause them to become wonder what is going to happen next and allow those to wonder if Lola will make this to Manni in time. This is in contrast to Shaun Tan’s book ‘Red Tree’ which displays how over time people may heal and conditions can change. In picture 3 we come across the little girl in the shadow of a big fish looming over her.

Tan has used dull shades to show the gloominess of her situation. She appears small and unimportant. The fish can be a mark for how she is sense with its downturned face and mouth; but it looks as though it has tears running from the eyes. In the picture we have a single crimson leaf in the gutter, a reoccurring design in every photo, which symbolises hope. In ‘The Reddish colored Tree’ thinking about time exists with the reoccurring motif of the red leaf.

At the start in the book that doesn’t pay attention to the leaf, towards end in the book the limited girl starts to notice it and an endearing smile begins to demonstrate on her encounter. This is accustomed to represent towards the reader that this takes time for the good end result to occur, that time be an important factor in someone’s life. The application of ‘and wait’ represents the fact that persona is just waiting for something to happen.

This makes the reader have a pity party and concerned toward the little lady. Studying these types of texts has turned it clear that important ideas, methods and images in both ‘Run Lola Run’ and ‘The Red Tree’ have determined and tested our comprehension of reality, possibility, time, destiny and love.
