Paul Haggis’ 2003 film Crash is around Los Angeles citizens with extremely separate lives. They go through interweaving testimonies of competition, loss and redemption. That shows us how we hook up or disconnect with other people.

Although we all feel separated by a volume of factors including race, class, status or perhaps gender our company is more linked than we believe. The enhancing used in this kind of film leads to the total theme. Character types involved can be a black private investigator estranged coming from his mom, his criminal younger brother and company partner, a white District Attorney and his irritated and special wife, a racist white police officer who have disgusts his more youthful partner, an African American Hollywood director and his wife, a Persian-immigrant daddy who is distrustful and vigilant of others, and a locksmith who is a Hispanic hard-working family man.

A lot of cross trimming is used for connecting the different heroes together. One example is in the end of 1 scene the doorway slams. The sound of the door slamming is used to awaken the other person in the next scene. In the end of one field is pressing a door, and a door opening leads to the next scene.

The ending of a picture is a close-up of the black detective adding groceries apart in his mother’s fridge; another scene is the District Attorney’s wife talking about grocery shopping. This kind of film uses montage photos so that the total effect is greater than the consumer parts. The length of each shot determines the pace of the action such as change of pace which affects the mood. The shot in the introduction of each character lasted about the same period.

That way all of us saw the typical type of person or attitude each character has. Once shots were used to display emotion, the shot survived a bit longer so that the audiences are able to hook up and be familiar with character. Particularly in the scene if the Persian daddy shot the Hispanic man’s little girl. That went into slow-motion and the shot lasted extended. The music was sad and dramatic and this shot individually made me cry because I could really feel the pain of the tragedy that just occurred.

A landscape that directs a message through editing can be when the black Hollywood movie director and his better half were halted by the white police officer. The white police officer molests his wife which hurts the couple in many ways. They both equally become incredibly affected by so what happened. Later on inside the film the wife climbs into a car accident in which her car flipped as well as gets trapped but needs to get out of the car before this explodes.

That event started to be a turning point in the white colored officer’s life and improved him. This individual became the opposite of the man that was introduced to us. This editing plays an important role since it shows us that the same person who injure us would be the same person that is there in the time of need. The editing and enhancing used in this film certainly portrays the theme.

The techniques utilized show that all the major situations that occurred in their lives were caused by each other. People who think that they may have no reference to each other are perhaps connected. The editing utilized in this film had an important role in mailing an important concept to the audiences.

There may be differences between all of us but many people are the same, we are all human with feelings and emotions. Many people are connected.
