The movie “12 Angry Men” is about a murder trial set in the mid 1900’s when the American legal program had completely different rules from what it has. The trial is about a 16 year old boy who have supposedly murdered his father late a single night in New York City. Having been from a slum, with a history of problems with the law, which includes knife battles. The court is made up of 14 white guys who are meant to deliberate about the boy’s fate if he is Latino.
In the beginning from the movie it is extremely clear that eleven from the twelve jurors have already made a decision that having been guilty, the only one who said not guilty can be juror amount eight.
Juror number eight believes that you can’t send someone to die without even talking about the case initially. As the movie goes on that they discuss different parts of the truth and 1 by 1 the jurors begin to change their vote to not responsible.
The vital thing they go over is the knife that was used to get rid of the father, chances are they discuss time it took the only man on the ground below to access the door after he read the body strike the floor.
Next they went on to planned more regarding previous points talked about, until finally they talked about the women who actually viewed the killing by using a passing T train. Among the jurors recalls that she had indents on the edges of her nose demonstrating that she dressed in glasses, therefore they come to the conclusion that she could hardly of seen anything as she had not been wearing her glasses while lying in bed. Once they finally call for a last vote offered to the decision of acquitting the boy. All 12 jurors finally agree on the decision of simple.
Throughout the entire movie there are various dynamics at the job among the doze jurors. One of the many dynamics is that the boy is usually Hispanic during a time once racism was a natural part of society. You may clearly notice that racism, and stereotyping played a huge part when could they started deliberating 11 out of the 12 jurors voted guilty. Generally there wasn’t a doubt in their brains that this individual didn’t get it done, they based that exclusively off of the fact that the accused was Asian. Having a most white jury for a trial with a Asian person as the defendant in the 1950’s, without a doubt racism will play a major role in deciding weather condition or not really he is guilty.
Another powerful at perform during this motion picture is that they are all in a group together providing them with group mentality where they will be hesitant to speak out, or change their vote as they are self conscious of what other persons will think about them. Through the movie generally there where a number of things that influenced individual jurors plus the jurors in general. In the movie 12 Irritated Men there was an abundance of points that motivated individual jurors. One of the main issues that motivated many of the jurors is racism because the defendant was Mexican. One juror said “He’s an unaware kid from a slum who doesn’t speak good English”.
That is flat out racism, there’s no approach around the reality racism played a huge role in their decision making process. Inside the 1950’s racism was part of everyday life, it was socially recognized during that period. Another thing that influenced one of these was that he had baseball tickets to a game later in the evening so having been going to side with what ever received him out of their sooner than later. Having been voting guilty all the way until it became a split involving the jurors on weather he was guilty or perhaps not.
That shows that that affected his decision making method, because he was going to side with no matter what side acquired him away faster. Another thing that inspired individual jurors is all their fear of talking their minds, or perhaps side with the side they really think is the right one. In the beginning you may tell that some of the people were hesitant mainly because they were afraid of what other persons would think of them, for this reason they had to carry out a silent boule in order to keep deliberating. There were other factors that afflicted the group as a whole within their decision making process. Different things impact the group than the individual jurors. The main thing that affected all their decision making procedure is the extreme heat, heat would make these people want to get away of there as fast as possible, making them side with whatever side will get them away faster.
I understand I cannot work correct when Now i am extremely warm, I obtain frustrated actually fast and still have no individuals, I know I would personally want to get away as fast as possible. You are able to tell it affects persons because they will snap each and every other on the drop of your hat, and in addition they were sweating the whole period till they will turned on the sunshine. Another thing that affected the group while whole was groupthink, which can be the practice of pondering or producing decisions as a group in a way that attempts creativity or perhaps individual responsibility. They will make decisions as a group so no one person can be blamed for whatever occurs, people can’t stand too much responsibility. Lastly yet another thing that helped sway all their decision making procedure as a group is the fact that one person was looking to pressure others into speaking, and pressuring them in siding with him.
The movie 12 Angry Men was about a trial through the 1950’s in which a Hispanic youngster supposedly murdered his dad, and 12 white males deliberate to identify his fate. They start 11 to 1, and 1 by 1 they modify sides till they sooner or later acquit him of all the fees. Things like racism, baseball tickets, and anxiety about what other people think are some things that afflicted their person decision-making. Such things as groupthink, the heat, and the reality you would be depleted of patients at a particular point, and you simply would commence to snap each and every other at the drop from the hat. I think I think this kind of movie was actually good and a good go into the American legal system, since it shows all of the changes that have been created from them to today.
