Given hospitals’ short-term orientation with all the patients, there is a need to bridge patient care before, during and after acute-care visits.

While there are some nursing jobs specialties which may be regarded as solely hospital- or community-based, many of the specialties require a more alternative notion of patient attention. By incorporating the CNS and NP specialties, this kind of profession has a better potential for assuring better patient outcomes, and a better quality of life for the patient.
