There are three fundamental ways in which people have tried to classify people to genuine biological variations, instead of social differences, during the past. The first is the ‘typological model’. This model classifies people in to geographical teams, on chosen common personas. The second model is the ‘populational model, which will classifies people on the basis of special mating together, over a lengthy period of time.

The final model is the ‘clinical model’. This model examines the inherited characteristics of the group, which usually change as time passes and is not the same as the changes consist of geographic areas; the circulation of these attributes (Ellison & Goodman). All models do not do the job. The typological version is wrong because of the fact that some ethnicity characteristics are normally found in different groups.

The populational model falls flat because of the fact that people do not limit their propagation to tiny areas. The clinical unit is undermined by the reality some human groups migrate and the consequently discontinuity in the typical feature, and by the fact that there are not too many small communities remaining on the globe anymore. Scientists now agree with this, they understand that classifying humans, based upon any particular model, will be arbitrary. Experts now only use the classifications as a tool to organize the information.
