stood about 30, 000 Union troops business lead by General Irvin McDowell ready to
mar out and capture Richmond and end the war. For the troops were
young volunteers and thought that all the fight would simply last one day.
But they had been wrong for the struggle of Manassas or otherwise referred to as Bull
Manage lasted more then one day the battle lasted six days and nights instead.
The Confederates got 22, 000 men who were headed by simply Gen. Caillou G. Big t. Beauregard

understood was that the war could only previous one day and they would go residence.
General McDowell had a intend to seize the railroad passageway at Manassas
so he would have an improved approach to the Confederates Capital.
As the Union was trying to devise a plan to seize the railroad verse
the Confederate troops were guarding the fords of Bull Work. McDowells
armed service marched his men from Washington resistant to the Confederate army, and
ended up being behind Half truths Run Past Centreville about July 18.
On This summer 18th Style. McDowell transferred toward
the unions correct flank, although he was halted at Blackburns Ford and he spent
the next two days scouting the southerns left flank. When Gen. McDowell
was searching the flanks at Blackburns ford, Style. Beauregard asked the
Confederate Government in Richmond for assists, and they ordered Gen. Joseph
At the. Johnston positioned in the Shenandoah Valley together with his 10, 500 troops to

males headed to Matthews Hill, Col. Nathan Evans realized that the attack
at Natural stone Bridge was only a diversion, and so he sent his command rushing toward
Matthews Hillside to head away McDowells army. But Evans Army was too fragile
and couldnt hold back the Union to get long. Général General Barnard
Bee and Colonel Francis Bartow visited go support Evans guys but their rearrangements
were weak as well as well as the Union ruined the Southerners lines and headed
toward Henry Hillside.
Gen. Bee called on the assistance of Gen.
Jones J. Jacksons brigade to manage the lines and keep back the Union
from going any further. This kind of spot is where Gen, Thomas M. Jackson
received his nickname Stonewall because Gen. Bee shouted, Right now there stands
Jackson like a natural stone wall!
The Union ended the confederates attacks
but the battle survived long enough for the confederates to reenforce their
lines. Both sides exactly where battling forward and backward trying to force one
or maybe the other away Henry Slope. The confederates took out the Unions
proper flank within the Chinn Shape, which brought on McDowells product to retreat
back throughout Bull Run, where the streets were crowed with people aiming to
see the battle. In all the distress of the struggle Gen. Bee and Lacet.
Bartow perish in action, and Gen. Stonewall takes command word and attacks.
The Union retreated completely back to
Buenos aires and the Confederates on the Fight of Bull Run. Although
it was a battle that people wouldnt feel that would last for very long it was
too costly. Which built Lincolns operations have to substitute
McDowell with a new Maj. Standard George B. McClellan, who a different
