The story unwraps with Mary Joad hitchhiking on his method home to his familys farm following serving a brief prison term. He gets a trip from a trucker whom sneaks him on even though it is resistant to the rules. The trucker knows that Jeff has just recently been released coming from prison and begins to issue him.

Tom doesnt have a problem informing what this individual has done and they get into an extensive conversation.
