Martin Seligman is definitely the father of positive mindset (Friedman & Schustack, 2012). Positive mindset pertains to assisting people live happier and healthier lives (Friedman & Schustack, 2012). Seligman and Csikszentmihalyi claims that “positive psychology with the subjective level is about appreciated [sic] subjective experiences, ” such as “well-being, contentment, fulfillment (in the past), hope and optimism (for the future) and flow and happiness (in the present)” (McNulty & Fincham, 2011, p. 101).

Seligman and Csikszentmihalyi can also be states which the “individual level is about great individual traits” and the functionality “for love and incorporation, courage, interpersonal skill, aesthetic sensibility, perseverance, forgiveness, creativity, future mindedness, spirituality, excessive talent and wisdom” (McNulty & Fincham, 2011, g. 101). Finally, Seligman and Csikszentmihalyi suggest that positive mindset “at the group level is about the civic virtue’s” and” the institutions that move” individual’s “toward better citizenship” as well as the “responsibility, nurturance, altruism, civility, moderation, threshold and work ethic” (McNulty & Fincham, 2011, g. 101).

The chosen document states that the “field of positive psychology” believes that individuals have particular “psychology traits” that are handed down of the individual’s positive mental health (McNulty & Fincham, 2011, l. 101). Studies show that “forgiveness, optimistic, positive thoughts and kindness” can easily “benefit or harm” people (McNulty & Fincham, 2011, p. 101). The researchers state that the psychologist should move forward and examine the individual’s attributes that may support well-being. The researchers demonstrate three approaches to search for a better understanding to positive psychology.

First, psychiatrist need to take a look at the process of joy and factors (McNulty & Fincham, 2011). Second, psychiatrist need to understand, prevent, relieve and appreciate people who suffer (McNulty & Fincham, 2011).
