“Leadership is a process whereby a person influences several individuals to acquire a common goal” (Northouse, 2012). The novice had to recognize and review four ideas of leadership.

The ideas selected to assess by the learner are a contingency, behavioral, change, and transactional. For a better understanding of how these ideas will fit into her wanted line of function, these hypotheses must first be described. According to Northouse (2012), “Contingency Theory is a leader-matched theory that tries to match leaders to appropriate circumstances to fit the leader’s framework (as offered by Fiedler and Chemers, 1974). Backup theory depends on the idea that an innovator ability to resolve a situation will depend on certain presented factors.

There isn’t one certain leadership design that a leader can affect every condition. Whenever a component is presented, the leader must change his leadership design. Dependent upon the problem, a leader may well succeed or fail. Behavioral theory assumes that market leaders are made but not born and focuses on the certain actions of market leaders.

Behavioral theorists believe that successful leadership may be learned and defined by leader’s activities. Leaders will often have a specific response to a specific condition and this is because people assume that a leader could be conditioned or taught how to react. For instance , the President of the United States cannot act out violently towards a person that might have been murdered in the immediate family. He would need to learn how to control himself inside the eyes in the public. Thoughts of retaliation and bad language looking at peers would not be suffered. “Transformational command theory is actually a process that changes and transforms people” (Northouse, 2012).

It works with the leader’s emotions that motivates their very own followers to behave with those same feelings and work toward a common objective. Leaders get their followers engaged by putting them inside the forefront with them to excel to the next level. That they show them they may be individually considered and admit them for their commitment and hard work. Every time a leader will be able to enthusiastically listen closely and show a feeling of public need, it will build a relationship bond that will raise the level of motivation and values in the two leader plus the follower. The very last theory assessed was the Transactional leadership theory.

He explained, “Transactional management theory focuses on the exchanged that occur between the leader plus the follower” (Northouse, 2012). Whenever using transactional theory, there is usually rewards and punishments issued depending on the efficiency of the supporters. If the target is completed and is good to the head, the fans is usually paid. If it is less than successful, some type of punishment may be rendered.

A good example of the transactional leadership theory is each time a police officer probably pulls on the manager from an electronic shop, instead of the police officer giving the manager a ticket; he may accept a great gift card from the manager to include in the store. Also this is unethical. In the learner’s current profession, she has chosen to make use of the Transformational command theory. This theory is most influential because she is the founder of a nonprofit charity.

The organization works with people of all races, origins, ethnicities, and more. She is dedicated to helping others with out expecting anything in return. When ever her fans see the closeness she own it inspires them to you are not selected to help her reach the goals of her firm.
