Throughout decades, technology has become changing and causing enduring effects on the human mind. As technology advances, a large number of debate as to whether future decades will be much less intelligent. While it is true that new technology provides rewired the brains and led to shorter attention covers, the Millennial generation is definitely not the “dumbest generation”, as Tag Bauerlein implies, because the more youthful generations have higher IQ levels and because we pursue and make use of knowledge in various ways.

Bauerlein is correct that technology has led to changes in our minds and led to a shorter attention duration. Now, teenagers are not aimed at enjoying learning and remembering factual data forever, but rather keeping rate with the competition around them to get involved with the best college or university possible. Since Bauerlein says, if you “ask this born and on-the-go high school elderly a few mental questions plus the facade of in-the-know-ness crumbles”(Source 1), demonstrating that adults have changed their focal points to other activities. Millennials don’t have facts and statistics commited to memory as we have, “the advantages of having immediate access to such an amazingly rich shop of information is usually many”(Source 4). Although people will make the case the fact that use of the net makes Millennials lazier, it is in our advantage as we are able to quickly mention anything we wish through using Google. With having this information stored for us around the internet, to become alarmed to memorize certain useless facts that are needed only

to impress others or complete a geography test. Ur. Smith Simpson, in 62, went out to prove that many Americans lack geographical knowledge and this “few may even place effectively the principal rivers”(Source 5). Even though this seems as if younger Us citizens are lacking in intelligence, there may be just simply will no longer a need to maintain all these bits of information inside our heads as a result of world wide web. This enables us to alleviate our brain of the burden of remembering countless facts, and to remember the more important things in life, such as impressive moments spent with our people. Although technology has led to short attention covers and altered brain capabilities, this does not produce Millennials much less intelligent as access to an array of information through the world wide web at our disposal.

Nevertheless, this is not the dumbest generation as we have bigger IQ amounts and an ever growing considering capacity. As time has recently been going by, “IQ scores in every country¦ have been rising since the 1930s”(Source 2). These tests will not measure know-how but rather pondering capacity, demonstrating that while technology is rolling out, so has the human mind. The burden of storing countless of information in one’s head has been elevated, allowing for the formation of more cognitive thinking skills. The improvement of technology, is “changing how peoples’ brains method information”(Source 2), showing that though we do not think just like previous ages, we are certainly not less brilliant because of this. In the event anything, this kind of change in how brains method information is known as a step forward intended for mankind as being a point of microevolution and adaptation to the world about us. Many try to believe videogames and television will be factors removing from our brains but infact, these leisure sources, “challenge mental dexterity”(Source 6). Simply by challenging each of our minds, we deliver our brains a workout of sorts

assisting us reinforce our quick reflexes and improve our brain capability. Since the era before the Millennials did not gain access to resources to improve their minds like us, our minds change and gain fresh thinking sizes allowing all of us to become even more intelligent and practical.

With technology becoming thus advanced, we now pursue and use knowledge in different ways. Due to, “its immediacy and breadth details, the digital world lowers barriers to self-directed learning”(Source 3). This allows us to adapt along with technology and when we truly like a subject we must ability to start learning on it with ease. For example , by using my computer system, I was able to teach me personally the major chords of the acoustic guitar and learn a few basic tunes. Since I used to be able to access the internet, I was able to pursue an interest and learn how to enjoy the guitar. The amount of things the Millennial group has usage of through the internet allows us to follow different paths and enjoy independence of understanding a broad size of things. This exploration allows our minds to mature combined with the experiences and informations we find. Along with social media and texting comes the assumption of adults being lazier due to their overuse of these points. The astonishing thing is, “young people today write far more than virtually any generation ahead of them”(Source 7). Through using social media and texting like a creative wall socket, Millennials are writing far more than older generations would outside of university. This boost of writing allows us to be more adept in adapting the tone after assessing the audience building a connection with those around all of us. The transform of style in pursuing understanding, which was helped bring upon by advancing tech, allows our generation to become more smart than past generations.

Through technology’s advancements, they have led to shorter attention ranges and features rewired our brains. Even though this is true, the Millennial technology is not really “the dumbest generation”, as we have higher IQ levels and pursue and use know-how in different ways than the years before all of us.
