Before this project I knew nothing about Title IX other than what we should briefly mentioned in class. Following group and individual exploration, I was astonished to see what size of an impact this legislation has made. In person, I was assigned the athletics section of Subject IX, anything I found incredibly interesting. Subject IX comes a long way, and with that being said, there is still more to be completed. Since the law has passed, Subject IX made competitive sports activities for females (who love to perform sports just as much as male athletes) much easier to access than ever before. Financial assistance is now granted at a collegiate level (scholarships), entry to facilities, teachers, and equipment is readily available, and participation can be bought almost country wide. Believe it or not, simply over the last over 20 year has this become nationally known. Many argue that Title IX takes away from male athletics due to the forced 50/50 break up of scholarship/access to equipment, but this may not be true. Guy athletes will be granted even more scholarship money these days today than ever, and quite frankly, and unfortunately, continue to be granted more attention by university.

Nevertheless , since 1972, women’s engagement at the school level has grown by 560% and 990% at the senior high school level. Personally, it is apparent to me that with these kinds of numbers being true, in previous years it reveals the lack of chance for women. A regular argument against title IX is that girl athletes will not deserve everything they are naturally because they don’t enjoy all their sports as much as male players. If these kinds of numbers usually do not give you the apparent answer to that argument, you may need to do some more deeply research. Another myth I actually learned about this kind of law is that “people tend not to support Title IX”. The nation should really stand for equal rights, although for several groups of people equality is not truly equality, each of our nation is improving as a result of those happy to make a big change. With laws like Name IX becoming passed, equality seems to be a thing we while society can obtain.

Working with the group that I had was a great encounter, I discovered of all the facets of Title IX ranging from education, to lovemaking assault, towards the section I researched, athletics. As a group, our strengths had been that we communicated well. All of us started an organization text message exactly where everyone was really involved with out one was difficult. All of us scheduled to fulfill at the library several different times to get organized and get on precisely the same page, in every single meeting we had almost each of our entire group show up. Everyone understood the idea behind Name IX which makes me feel comfortable presenting with the group which i had. Certainly one of our weak points was that we began this kind of project not so sure each other individually. Through the course of completing this kind of project, we as a group have got to know each other, and discovered what to expect in one and other. Intended for the initial couple weeks or so, this was not accurate. We fought to find a rhythm and to stay organized, which will made me, and everyone else nervous. The group text message really helped bring us together and put us on the right track to completing this kind of project in a correct and well-done fashion.

Overall Title IX which class all together has been a great eye-opener. It can be crazy to master of all the points society has been doing, and continually do to take advantage of consumers through imagery, sexualization, objectification, ect¦ I enjoyed not only understanding women during the past and present, but as well the different struggles faced by simply other contests, cultures, and groups of other people. These are serious matters, and classes like these help condition the future for change. They say my generation is considered to be a “wave of change” and I hope I will do all of that I can to help be that change. Subject IX is a superb law that still may will need some tweaking, but it can be on the right path to success, and has made a big positive impact in females, guys, and contemporary society as a whole.
