As a result, we very easily recognize Philippine, American, China, Japanese or any other overseas food, terminology or music. The difference lies in the way these ingredients are rated, combined or perhaps emphasized so they take on a distinctively Philippine slant or perhaps cast. For example, in Cina, honesty and hard work might rank highest; Chinese and Japanese civilizations give wonderful value to politeness and beauty; American culture to promptness and efficiency; and Filipino lifestyle to rely upon God and family centeredness.

In this sense of value-ranking and top priority of principles, we can discuss about it dominant Filipino values. Horacio de la Costa, T. J. alls the Philippine “nationalistic tradition(pagsasarili, pagkakaisa, pakikisama, pakikipagkapwa-tao, and pagkabayani. )

Filipino ideals like bahala na, utang na loob, hiya, pakikisama, pakiusap happen to be clustered about core values like interpersonal acceptance, economic security, interpersonal mobility, and they are always found in a definite context or set of circumstances. Fourthly, we can speak of Filipino ideals in the sense the fact that historical mind of ideals has evolved amongst our persons.

The Filipino concept of justice has evolved from inequality to equality, and human pride; from the group, to the friends and family, and to area. Filipino mind of these distinct values may differ at distinct periods of the history. It is only in the last two decades that the Philippine people have be a little more conscious of overpopulation and family planning, environmental pollution (Kawasaki sintering plant) and creatures conservation (Calauit Island), and the violation of human legal rights (Martial Law), active non-violence and People Electrical power (1986 nonviolent Revolution).
