A controversial argument that has been with us for many years, and can still be argued for many years to come, is definitely the relatively close relationship that fashion and Art offers. People in both the trend and skill industries (or as some music artists like to call: ‘art world’) have incredibly mixed views and suggestions on the effort of fashion and art and how one may affect the other in the industry we live in today.

“Art is Art and Fashion is definitely an industry, as offered from in Michael Boodro’s ‘Art and Fashion’ (2007), he feels that Fashion is just a ‘man made’ fad that has only been popularised by the many followers in public places that are cloned to consume the ideas of fashion.

Boodro as well believes that “¦ vogue comes with zero illusions attached He thinks that there isn’t any depth to fashion since there is in art, this individual believes skill is an academia with vast absolute depths of knowledge involved as to fashion, which is a short and very black and white in it’s appearance, with no hidden text messages.

He goes on to explain the interest in styles first made its debut in the overdue 1800s/early 1900s when the particular rich and wealthy may afford a muslim, in a type of portraits, then simply these artists created complex fashions with this paintings, learning the art of blind and how to portray fabrics inside the best possible lumination, For example: “Gustav Klimt, pictures of women, ‘designed’ dresses that were more prominent than his subjects.

Following on out of this, Boodro after that goes on to highlight some interesting links among art and fashion in how the music artists has always formed the inspiration intended for the designer, including: “Valentino features taken black and white geometric motifs from your Viennese artists Josef Hoffman and Koloman Mosen and embroided all of them in sequins and dresses Many other illustrations there to focus on that a key to a designers success is by taking inspiration from prior art work by simply innovative and creative music artists, which helps Boodro’s view that vogue is a fans and an art00.

“Clothes were placed in an extra-artistic sphere- where the many part they may have remained. This can be taken from a contrasting piece of writing from ‘Fashion and Art’ by D. Svendsen (2006). As you can see, the Title ‘Fashion and Art’ is a reverse to Boodro’s ‘Art and fashion’, this is because, because quoted previously mentioned, Clothes (fashion) were put in an ‘extra-artistic sphere’, and therefore he perceives Fashion as a seperate category to Art, and not a branched off form of artwork itself.

Svendsen has a far more equal judgment for both sides of the thoughts and opinions, he can select where Skill and Vogue do combine into one, and in addition how Style has segregated itself coming from art. He stated that in the early 1900’s, Style was very limited and limitations were stringent due to “Freedom was somewhat restricted, since the creations had to charm to the aesthetic preferences in the customer.

Even though artists and art critics will strongly disagree that Fashion is a form of Fine art, even well-known designers such as Paul Poiret, one of the first famous fashion designers of the early 20th 100 years stated “I am an artist, not a dressmaker, designers hated just how critics might limit their title to just a ‘dressmaker’, limiting all their skills and talents rather than creative h that they aspire to be celebrated for.

Another controversial quotation though via a popular designer, Martin Margiela who have insists that “fashion is a craft, not art Moving into the 1920s and 30s with the Cubism perception in artwork exchanging realism, Style also consequently started to become more abstarct, and this was when ever Haute Fashion was born, styles became more elaborate and the previous restrictions that been with us were lifted, giving designers a vast playground in which that they could experience of their work and suggestions.

“Many Fashion Designers possess used strategies normally associated with contemporary fine art rather than the associated with fashion, by simply creating clothing that are better suited to exhibitions in museums and galleries than to get actual wearThis shows an excellent link among fashion and art, it was evolving to be so summary and excessive that the simplest way for them to show up to their finest potential was in galleries and museums, the same way as art work would be, Such as now in Museums like the Victoria and Albert working in london, there is now Vogue Archives, and a lot of international designers have homed themselves presently there for one-off elaborate displays.

To conclude I do believe that I would categorise Fashion as a form of art, but not a direct result of art, I believe many people have similar thoughts of the two because they are these kinds of broad matters with a unlimited sum of space for imagination. I do agree that some of fashions many successful choices and advertisments stemmed from the innovative tips of prior artists sometimes of the more successful fashion occasions have been exclusively down to the creative brains of the custom made If I had to categorize fashion and the Designers work, I would place it beneath craftsmanship and creativity, because previously cited by Matn Margiela. To finalise even though I believe that art and fashion really should not be labelled as well as the two are able to intertwine to develop magical and awe-inspiring items.
