“Crash”: Film production company

“Crash” is a film that is about a group of people in LA experiencing racial patience in America. There are eight “groups” in the players of personas. The movie occurs in a 35-hour time block where many of these people is going to “crash” or “bump” into each other at some point even if they do not know them. The cast is multi-ethnic and throughout the movie, you can see what every “group” challenges with. The “group” does not have to be focused around one central commonality, as groupings can be based upon race, sexuality, or additional similarities. As a result, advertising focused on the fact that crash was an collection movie with a diverse players and the celebrities in it were almost all credited with great success. With that said, “Crash” received crucial notoriety, perhaps due to the celebrities are a certain amount in the video. In a questionable award demonstrate season, “Crash” consistently was up against “Brokeback Mountain”, an image centered on homosexuality. It can be deduced that “Crash” winning greatest picture was a social and political response to the controversy of “Brokeback Mountain” and has been considered in today’s contemporary society as “worst best picture”, which in turn just increases the media hype of the motion picture today.

“Crash” got many awards and nominations. In total “Crash” won sixty-four awards and was nominated for over a hundred. The merit that it is the majority of know for, the Academy Awards, through which Crash infamously won over “Brokeback Mountain”. It received Best Movie, Best Composing Original Movie script and finest achievement in Film editing. It is interesting to see how “Crash” gained these prizes and how stats were very low. It seems that while people were shifted by the subjects and matters that “Crash” covered, even the director, Paul Haggis the director believed differently, nevertheless.

Gefüllter schafsmagen, when interviewed, said that it shouldn’t be the very best picture. He purposely placed in racial stereotypes. In one interview he explains “I desired to write that movie and bust liberals. It’s too easy to bust folks we consider to become racist”. Haggis also clarifies in interviews that “It was a social experiment. I needed to have sex with with people. ” He believes that it is more about school in America than race (Buxton).

Furthermore, the controversy regarding “Crash” winning ideal picture as well relates to the sociopolitical landscape regarding homosexuality. In 2006, homophobia was not because evident to the public since people thought they were and was not showed highly in critically celebrated motion pictures. In case the movie would be to come out today, it would have got most likely not gained best picture because at the moment homosexuality is an extremely popular subject matter and it could have more attention than “Crash”. But that is not to say that “Crash” will be ignored mainly because racial problems and equal rights are also warm topics today.

Coming from what I have experienced in “Crash”, some of the prizes that it received made sense but some did not. One of the awards that it do deserve was your Oscar for Best Achievement in Film Editing and enhancing. The way that the movie was edited in different testimonies was extremely unique. It was a bit perplexing but when you have the movie you eventually get the proceedings. The transitions between the views were soft in just how it was not just a unique jump. The transition to a fresh scene may have some of the scene that came ahead of for some framework so the up coming scene will not be really confusing. One other award that Crash performed deserve was your award for best writing and screenplay (IMDb). The way the movie was written in various events almost all having to do with the other person in some minuscule way. This minuscule method that the incidents had to do with one another really helped to explain a number of the backstories. A number of the events I could see how people were touched by the story and how the character types really tried out their best to correct their complications (Child).

With PUBLIC RELATIONS and advertising “Crash” acquired a lot of attention in the media. There have been many types of PUBLIC RELATIONS and marketing for film production company. Advertising helped the movie in a multitude of ways. One of those ways were motion picture reviews. When critics could review the movie they often mentioned something about Haggis and his other movies and performs. With the movie posters, some of them had the quote “Moving at the speed of your life, we are sure to collide with each other”. This offer is basically the motto with the movie. If the DVD’s turned out, on the protects “Provocative” and “Thrilling” were two words and phrases used to get visitors to buy the motion picture. In the marketing campaign “Crash” would in some way relate with Haggis’ “Million Dollar Baby” which was used a lot in the campaign to get the movie. “Million Dollar Baby” was a great Oscar-winning film so Haggis was known for having great movies (Boardman).

Another motion picture that was up for the Best Picture was “Brokeback Mountain”. “Crash” and “Brokeback Mountain” were competitive against one another for that Ideal Picture subject. In the end “Crash” won and “Brokeback Mountain” did not. “Crash” won more than “Brokeback Mountain” for a couple of causes. “Brokeback Mountain” was a very taboo motion picture at the time. Ashton kutcher Turan with the Los Angeles Times wrote when needed after the film: So for those who were discomfited by Brokeback Mountain nevertheless wanted to be able to look themselves in the looking glass and seem like they were good, productive liberals, Crash supplied the perfect safe harbor. They could choose it in good mind, vote for this and experience they had manufactured a modern move, choose it rather than feel that there was clearly any spot on their tolerante credentials intended for shunning what Brokeback had to offer. And that is exactly what they did (Ebert). Other ways that “Crash” got even more attention than “Brokeback” is the fact according to Nikke Finke of LA Weekly: hetero members of Academy of Motion Picture Artistry and Savoir were reluctant to display screen “Brokeback Mountain”. Finke remarks “For a residential area that prides itself in modern values, this seemed embarrassing to me that Hollywoods homophobia could be on the par with Pat Robertsons (Ebert). In accordance to Robert Freidman, the business that financed the ads for “Crash” was PUBLIC RELATIONS agency “The Dart Group” who do “Shakespeare in Love” which in turn won an award over “Saving Private Ryan”. Friedman explains just how Focus Pictures (released “Brokeback Mountain”) has not been to attracted to the press while Lion’s Gate (released “Crash”) was full of individuals that worked on past Miramax films who learn how to make the film an “underdog” story (Baradell).

Eventually, it was “Crash” that received. Even today there exists still a lot of controversy about how “Crash” won the Oscar and if it earned it or not. Today even the movie director thinks about film production company and how it should not have gained the Oscar for Best Photo. We can certainly not change the fact that Crash received but what we could do is definitely we can seem back and see why did Crash win these kinds of awards and did they will deserve it or not. This is every up to what one while an individual will think, thus everyone has their own opinion and nothing even more to be stated about it.
