It is likely that this trend is going to continue over the same lines as various other technologies; just like telephones, the Internet, and mobile phones each separately became pretty much essential parts of living in Traditional western society, the web-enabled mobile phone will almost certainly be just as important to conducting organization and daily life in the next ten years.

For the majority of citizens inside the Western – and as increasingly the case, Far eastern – globe, there are some obvious up- and down-sides to these trends. The cabability to access and be accessed simply by almost anyone, regardless of where they or perhaps you are, can be ridiculously easy and more than a little bothersome. But there are other effects to this pattern that will have Internet and computers playing a much more common role in Western world as a whole. The “digital divide” that is staying created between those that have personal computers and internet access and those who do not may play a larger and larger role in determining what lengths people are in a position to advance, causing a larger rift between socioeconomic classes. In 2007, over 60 % of people in the United States had an Net connection in their homes; the majority of people acquired had links for at least several years (U. S. Census Bureau 2009). Those who would not – but still do not – have Internet connections in their homes are at a definite disadvantage in numerous areas. The world wide web can aid with study, obtaining employment, legal information, public events and bulletins – and even though those that will be well-off enough to have the Internet can take advantage of these things, others are set at an elevated disadvantage for lack of Internet capabilities. The coming decade will probably see a higher stratification of society based upon Internet and computer availability, as well as community debate and programs regarding the issue.

Since computer technology in general, and specifically the net, become more and even more prevalent within our daily lives, the effects that they may have will be far too comprehensive and sophisticated to compute. In equally subtle and profound ways, our lives have already been drastically transformed by personal computers and the Net. This will not simply continue to impact our daily lives, but will also have a larger interpersonal effect. Society will eventually catch up for the pace of technology again, but it could possibly be a rough ride.
