The Canberra bushfire started on Weekend 18th January 2003, with reports indicating that it was started by a Super Strike, towards the north of Canberra. In the few hours the few hours that proceeded, the fires raged out of control. One more fire close to the one started by the super, ended up becoming a member of it, setting up a massive fire front, roaring towards Canberra.
