Human body piercing is continuing to grow more accepting in the West as well as as other regions of the world, in addition to some areas, certain types of piercings that were once considered radical are getting to be more accepted (Body1 pp). For example , keen was unusual for middle section to upper class Western guys, however , today men with pierced hearing can be found employed in banks and other conservative settings, while in other parts of the world ear piercing remains to be considered unacceptable for men, similar to multiple ear piercings for girls (Body1 pp). Some people respect the practice of piercing as psychic or because embracing the ‘modern simple, ‘ although some consider it since simply faddish (Body1 pp). Some see the practice as a form of imaginative or self-expression, while others use it as a type of sexual appearance, or intended for symbolic reasons, however the current popularity of body piercing offers diluted a lot of its ethnical identification and symbolism (Body1 pp).

Since Western contemporary society has no social or spiritual tradition for body piercing, it has basically been used by modern society, especially the younger generation, like a symbol of non-conformity and rebellion resistant to the status quo. The thing about a sub-culture and its particular identifying represents, whether lengthy hair, bald head, body art, body piercings, or garments style, sooner or later, usually within a decade, that identifying tag has become very common.
