A tribute to our past, present and long term. Here’s to the winner in all of us! The moment dealing with debatable issues, we regularly allow the emotions to overshadow the powers of reason. As a result, the debate as to whether Dark-colored History should extend over and above its time-frame, pits pioneers against traditionalists, with each side vigorously asserting their situation. As for my take on the topic, I’m a purveyor of all things remarkable, and think that Black History is more than just a Month, It’s A Celebration.

It is a Special event of a rspectable race, running roughshod above bondage, road blocks and period eternal. Reckless, proud and infinitely positive, that is the importance of our heritage.

It is a Celebration of the legacy of Marcus Garvey, Frederick Douglass and W. E. M. DuBois, desperate against injustice, in a country fraught with hate and bigotry.

It is a Party of the NAACP, National Metropolitan League and Southern Christian Leadership Seminar, in their crusade to alleviate the insufferable stench of racism gone wrong.

It is a Celebration from the uprisings of Nat Turner and Denmark Vesey in their ill-fated attempt at freedom. And so strong had been these men inside their quest for independence, they preferred death to enslavement.

It is a Party of the troops on the battlefield. From the rebel retreat of Fort Wagner during the Civil War, to Operation Iraqi Freedom. Unsung heroes struggling and about to die to keep America safe for democracy.

It is a Celebration of the fictional genius of James Baldwin, Langston Barnes, Gwendolyn Creeks and Internet Angelou, urging America to redeem their pledge of equal rights for all with the written expression.

This can be a Celebration from the Revolutionists, Malcolm X, Angela Davis and the Black Panthers, urging Blacks to abandon the “wait and see” attitude and rebel resistant to the White Establishment”.

This can be a Celebration in the contributions of Dr . Charles Drew, blood vessels plasma president, and Garrett Morgan, originator of the computerized traffic lighting, whose innovations helped revolutionize the health and transportation market.

It is a Celebration from the Nobel Peace Prizes of Ralph L. Bunche and Martin Luther King, two gracious men dedicated to universe peace.

It is a Party of the athletic prowess of Jesse Owens, racing through the finish line at the 1936 Olympics, Cassie Robinson, breaking baseball’s color barrier. And the wizardry of Michael Jordan, displaying the world why he was called “the Greatest Athlete with the 20th 100 years. ” Similarly, we enjoy the splendour of Serena Williams, currently taking tennis to new altitudes, and the beauty of quarterback Cam Newton’s throwing mechanics, sturdy, about target, an exhibition of immense talent.

It is a Special event of the selection of our hair, curly, normal, permed, direct, waved and weaved, and the beige, crimson, brown and blackness of our skin.

Lastly, this can be a Celebration with the stunning victory of Barack Obama’s elevation to the obama administration. For centuries African-Americans have been informed to wait. Wait for justice. Watch for equality. Wait for an right to end up being treated with courtesy and respect. Wait for the right to have your vote. Wait for the right to enter the front door of a resort or cafe, without being arrested by law enforcement officials. At this point the wait was over, even as we watched a guy of biracial heritage, become the 44th Guru. Oh Content Day!

For this reason , we celebrate. To tell our story in our own words. In debating whether Black History ought to be celebrated throughout every season, it is great to focus on the actions and accomplishments of dignitaries earlier and present. Nevertheless, attention should also concentrate on lesser known heroes and heroines. We know that were it not for Dr . Ruler, opportunities to get African-Americans will be almost non-existent. They too had been instrumental in establishing the democracy of our modern background, and should have to be enshrined in the scripted walls from the immortals. In retrospect, African-Americans have made impacting contributions big and small, to the amazing archives that personify Dark History. And that is why it should be celebrated, every day of the year.
