Amanda in the glass menagerie essay

Characters, like the fruit which make a tree a fresh fruit tree produce a play, a novel, or even a sit-com. A character types personality may determine what course a story range might travel, or be taken to guide a story down the appropriate path. Characters traits can also be called upon to give a story depth and that means. Traits can be used to take away constitute the story or used to take the story away like a glowing shade of lip boat brings out a couple of lips. I would like to look at the traits both equally good and bad, of Amanda in Tennessee Williams The Goblet Menagerie. Amandas character is full of paradox, which supplies her numerous good, and bad characteristics. All of her gains and falls perform off of the other person making her a good figure that adds to the story, of course, if you ask the proper person might even be the storyplot her home.

Amanda is from Blue Mountain, wherever she were living on a time of gentlemen callers. She was a married girl, but was abandoned by her husband. Amanda is stuck between a world of illusion and actuality, which is what may cause most or at least the bad traits that I select to talk about. Amanda lives an extremely boring and empty your life. She uses her different world to make her your life better. The lady slips backwards and forwards through the complete story. She demonstrates an example of employing her different world when ever she says to Laura you be the lady this time and Ill become the darky. She plays games similar to this to make her life even more exciting. However she is struggling to live in her alternate community and she is forced into the pressures of everyday life, which will she lives through her children.

Amanda lives through her children to help make her life even more bearable. Amanda living through her children brings out the bad plus the good. One of Amandas great traits is the fact that she gives almost all to her children. She shows this when she says I know so well what becomes of unmarried women who arent willing to occupy a situation. That is her lifes main concern. She frets and concerns about her children to no end. The lady wants the best for her kids. She will not see that her wants differ form regarding her kids. She consequently does not gear her expereince of living towards their particular happiness, mainly because she does not want them to end up where she has. This devotion makes Amanda get caught in a snare of being overbearing, nagging and non-understanding.

Amanda shows attributes through out the play. The lady was extremely critical of what and how who children did items, like the moment Amanda phone calls Laura to come want upon the moon and tells her to wish for happiness and good fortune. The lady shows her overbearing side and Laura says mom youve made me so anxious. Amanda then simply shows he inability to know when states, you couldnt be satisfied with simply sitting house. As stated before Amanda is definitely not all bad.

The girl with a devoted mom with superb determination. Your woman however has let these good attributes take her to bad places. After the decrease of her spouse Amandas existence became clear and manilas. She evens up stories to replaces gaps in her life. The girl with so dedicated to her children that the lady starts to live through them. The girl flailed to identify that her children got different desires in life and the end Amanda ends up driving one of her kids aside. She employed the to worlds to guard her through the brutal real truth of her life. Amandas traits advantages or disadvantages added a great deal to this tale.
