Excerpt from Research Proposal:

LEADING CAUSES OF MORBIDITY:

Some of the conditions which often lead to early fatality in African-Americans, provided that the go without treatment or undiagnosed, include hypertension, coronary heart disease, cerebrovascular accident, kidney failing, dementia (i. e., Alzheimer’s disease), diabetes and selected types of cancer, most notably lung cancers, breast cancer, intestines cancer and prostate cancers (in men). Exactly why the morbidity costs for these disease are so greater in African-Americans than in other ethnic/racial organizations include a not enough education, decrease incomes and the inability to gain access to professional physicians and clinics (“Health and Health Care, inch 2009, Internet). At the top of the list, there exists hypertension, heart disease (especially arterial blockage), cerebrovascular accident and some significant types of cancer. With hypertension, some studies have demostrated that when a black guy lives in lower income, his probability of being troubled with heart disease increases, perhaps because of the stress which goes along with living in poor neighborhoods. In older black males, prostatic cancer is usually 60% more than in other ethnic/racial groups, maybe due to a bad diet and one rich in fat and carbohydrates (“Health and Health Care, ” 2009, Internet). A single additional condition which has a higher prevalence in African-Americans is glaucoma which is more than eight occasions higher than in whites. The explanation for this may be associated with inadequate usage of eye proper care specialists or to being unable to pay money for surgery to correct the problem once Medicare would not cover the procedure (“Health and Health Care, inches 2009, Internet).

PLAN OF IMPROVEMENT:

Absolutely, all of these disease which both causes death or brings about it in African-Americans can be reduced in several ways. 1st, in countryside areas, blacks must be given a similar healthcare access as additional racial groupings regardless of salary or social standing in the community. This could be achieved if regional, state and federal firms set up clinics in poor rural areas and in urban areas made up generally of African-Americans living in uncomplaining poverty. Second, most of these diseases, such as hypertension, diabetes and certain types of tumor could be reduced by a federally-mandated program geared towards encouraging African-Americans to stop ingesting fast food and in turn purchase healthy foods like fresh vegetables and those reduced fat which will would ultimately lower the probability of acquiring health problems which cause an early death or bring about a poor quality lifestyle.
