The principal motivation of philosophers inside the Pre-Socratic age was to take knowledge and a since of reason to the world, regardless of the repercussions that brought to their particular personal lives such as how they were viewed by religious purchases and regulating bodies of the communities through which they resided.

As I find out about the different philosophers from the Pre- Socratic era I came across myself oddly drawn to Anaxagoras because I found him also be the most compelling and a lot interesting of all of the Pre-Socratic philosophers that we read about. He was a teacher of metaphysics who lived through the era of (c. 500 – c. 428 B. C. E. ),  (Moore & Klosterbruder, 2008, p. 29). I came across his variations and opinions between matter and mind being very interesting to say the least.

Many of his ideas about change and particles still keep true to this day. Anaxagoras believed that every different type of mass consists of a make-up of its own contaminants and particles from others (Moore & Bruder, 2008, p.  29). Even though the contaminants that this individual spoke of could not be considered “atoms”, his ideas are continue to closely related to modern-day technology.

Considering the era in which he lived in, the concepts that he communicated were definitely far advanced considering the time in which he lived in even to other philosophers. Although equally Aristotle and Plato highly disapproved of Anaxagoras perceptions with the differences among mind and matter,  Anaxagoras may have got separated himself from the most brilliant philosophers of his time with his belief in the pure and infinite power of mind (Moore & Klosterbruder,  2008, g. 30).?nternet site read of Anaxagoras’ ideas, I found myself amazed and stunned with the fact that he seemed to have come up with these kinds of scientific suggestions or as many of us might say today can “look and think outside of the box” with no aide of all our modern time technology minus the use of virtually any modern medical tools.

His legacy and state of mind leaves all of us with many unanswered questions just like, how does one from such an historical period on time come up with this sort of a concept? And exactly how does one understand or have an idea of the process involved in the makeup of the head or that of matter?  The philosophy and ideas of this philosopher such as Anaxagoras might have been able to have realized that they were in some way setting the foundations of our modern science to be sure it today.

Much of the expertise we have today has come via a single question, a statement or perhaps an idea that someone else sooner or later of time may possibly have been regarded as nothing more than the absurd ranting is of a mad gentleman.
