2 . How had been the change movements of 1820-1860 in the United States related to the growth of market and downtown life?

During the years 1820-1860, America has received a say of interpersonal reformation actions that were in correlation with all the growth of market and urban life. This time period, also known as the antebellum era (time period prior to Civil War) brought moves such as: the temperance motion (1826-1840’s), the movement for public asylums (1820’s and 1830’s), the public education movement/reform (1820-1860), the women’s rights movement (1850’s) and the anti-slavery movement.

All these movements were in sync with for the growth of industry and downtown life. The temperance activity arose due to urban life people faced in the metropolis (alcoholics); the movement for public asylums arose because of the countless of men and women that acquired disabilities plus the number of desolate people in urban areas; the women’s legal rights movement came about because of the approach men remedied women in both market and urban life; plus the anti-slavery motion arose due to way sector was dealing with them (such as an excessive amount of work and no pay).

The temperance motion (1826) as well as the movement pertaining to public asylums (1820’s and 1830’s) both arose because of the conditions the people of the city life were facing. The temperance motion arose because there were too many people drinking liquor excessively after working hours, and increased after the Irish immigrated to America during the 1830’s (since a large number of people stereotyped the Irish as extreme drinkers, the temperance movement was mostly aimed towards them). Many of the people that consumed liquor stated that it treated their anxiety from functioning too much in the factories. However , once those people got home, that they caused relatives problems, and sometimes cause crimes. This downtown problem was a big issue, so persons organized themselves and produced a temperance movement to request the pledge of people to settle abstinent.

One other movement that arose because of urban concerns was the quantity of people that had been homeless and the ones that haddisabilities. Throughout 1820-1840, urban existence was packed with crime due to number of desolate people that swindled others. There was also a big number of destitute people living on the roadways because the town could did not have enough apartments rentals to allow persons in. The number of people that got disabilities likewise caused a problem in metropolitan life mainly because they had a difficult time struggling to outlive. That is why people formed the Asylum activity. This movements called for home of pet shelters for the homeless, universities for the disabled people and medical centers for these people. This movement helped increase urban existence to become a position place.

The women’s legal rights movement came about due to the method they were remedied by men. However , the women’s privileges movement didn’t begin with the snap of your finger. Since many women had been busy taking care of the house and the children, that they didn’t possess time to entail themselves in movements to support their legal rights. However , when the Industrial Wave came to America, men kept home to work for salaries, which supposed they had less time to spend with the wife. With the addition of birth control, females had fewer children, which usually meant that they’d time for social reform. Following entering this “phase ladies came to a realization that they can resented how men neglected them to extra roles (which was to care for the house and children) in the movement and preventing these people from engaging of anything that had to do with politics. This sort of pondering can be labeled as a great urban thought process because within an everyday downtown day, the mother could stay at home as the father would go work to get his salary.

Although women fought against for their privileges during the 1850’s, their movements was hidden by the anti-slavery movement. This movement came about because the market of America was treating them bad. In the South, many slaves were placed in hard labor because throughout the 1820’s to 1830’s, there were a very high demand for people needing cotton. The anti-slavery activity was maintained the Second Superb Awakening (a time period in the united states in which religious enlightenment flourished). The Second Wonderful Awakening brought over that slavery was a sin, and since many individuals were very faith based, they don’t like the reality they were sinners (urban existence ideals). The anti-slavery movement also brought abolitionists together to fight for theircause plus it brought abolitionist newspapers including _The Liberator_. Many persons also didn’t like the reality slaves looked as business (industry), which gave all of them another reason to create the motion.

The antebellum era helped bring many interpersonal reforms to America, and so they were bleary relation to the way the industry was growing as well as the way persons lived in city life. The temperance motion was in response to the criminal activity and the alcoholics that came about during the 1830’s; the movement for community asylums came about because of the quantity of needy individuals who were destitute and incapable; the can certainly rights movements arose because of the way they were treated by simply men inside their urban lifestyle and the regarding industry; and the anti-slavery activity was in respond to the unfair treatment of slaves, the idea that slavery was a desprovisto, and the reality slaves looked as a market. All these reforms arose since the people were responding to the things that were taking place to city life and the growth of market, and in my opinion, I think all these reforms were made for the best of mankind mainly because they generated a more secure and secure life.
